SEATTLE – The Utah track & field team wrapped up day one of the UW Invitational on Saturday inside Dempsey Indoor with solid marks by the Women of Utah.
The sprints contingency for Utah got things going on Friday with
Chloe Shewell running a 25.76 in the 200m dash to win her heat and was just off of her career-best.
Madi Durrant ran in the 200m event for the first time in her young career, posting a time of 25.98.
Lindsey Peters had a great debut as a member of the Women of Utah squad, winning her heat in the 3000m race to finish ninth-overall with a mark of 9:30.64.
Morgan Jensen was the next fastest Ute thanks to a PR run of 9:35.98 in the 3k for 19th-overall.
McKaylie Caesar, who also made her indoor season debut alongside Jensen, posted a new personal best after crossing the finish line at 9:36.52.
Ellie Lundgreen was the fastest collegian in her heat, taking second and 25th-overall with a mark of 9:39.33 for a new personal best.
Vero Boire made her Utah debut officially, finishing at 9:42.22 while freshman
Anna Peters made her collegiate indoor season debut with a time of 9:45.56.
Maddie Reed (10:01.47) and
Saydi Anderson (10:04.00) closed out the group of Utes competing in the 3000m race to wrap up the day's competition.
The Women of Utah will head back to Dempsey Indoor on Saturday, Jan. 27, beginning at 10:40 a.m. (MT) with the 400m dash and followed by the 800m run. Utah will then close it out in the mile before heading back to SLC.
