Josh Dubow of the Associated Press reported that Utah is the first team to gain 500-plus yards of total offense and allow less than 100 in a Pac-12/Pac-10 Conference game since at least 2000.
ASU won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. The Utes defended the South goal to begin the game.
 Offense
Utah's 513 total yards of offense are a season-high and are the most since putting up 533 vs. USC in the 2022 Pac-12 Championship Game.
Utah's 55 points are a season-high and the most since scoring 63 at Colorado on Nov. 26, 2022.
The 352 rushing yards are a season-high for Utah and are the most since the Colorado game (383) in 2022.
Prior to today, Arizona State had held three straight opponents (Colorado, Washington and Washington State) each under 100 yards rushing.
Since offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig returned to Utah in 2019, the Utes have eclipsed 450-plus total yards of offense in 26 games and 30-plus points in 38 games.
Starting quarterback Bryson Barnes improved to 6-1 in his seven career starts, passing for a career-high four touchdowns which ties him for 10th all-time for a single game at Utah. The last four-touchdown passing game by a Ute was from Cameron Rising vs. San Diego State in 2022. The last time a Ute accomplished the feat in a Pac-12 Conference game was Tyler Huntley against USC in 2018.
Barnes was a perfect 5-of-5 passing on Utah's opening drive, capped with a 11-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Devaughn Vele. It was Vele's first touchdown reception of the season and first since the Stanford game on Nov. 12, 2022.
Running back Ja'Quinden Jackson had 13 carries for 111 yards and a 54-yard touchdown. It pushed Jackson over the 100-yard mark for the fifth time as a Ute and third this season (129 at Baylor, 117 at USC).
Entering in relief of Barnes during the fourth quarter, Nate Johnson totaled 79 yards on two carries. His rushing total was a career-high as was his long rush of 59 yards for a touchdown. It was the longest rushing touchdown by a Utah quarterback since the Rose Bowl vs. Ohio State on Jan. 2, 2022 (62 yards by Cameron Rising).
Running back Dijon Stanley logged his first offensive touches as a Ute, tallying six carries and a 14-yard reception.
Fellow running back Charlie Vincent rushed for a 22-yard touchdown during the fourth quarter; it was Vincent's second career score and first since the Arizona game on Nov. 5, 2022.
Wide receiver Devaughn Vele tied a career-high with seven receptions; Vele most recently had seven catches last week vs. Oregon.
Vele's two receiving touchdowns were his first of the season and tied a career-high; he also had two against San Diego State on Sept. 17, 2022. His first score marked Utah's fourth opening-drive touchdown of the season, and first since the USC game on Oct. 21.
With 54 seconds remaining before halftime, wide receiver Munir McClain reached up and through an ASU defender for a 20-yard touchdown reception. It was McClain's lone catch on the day and his first career touchdown reception.
Tight end Landen King made a season-long 20-yard reception during the fourth quarter. It was King's longest catch since a 24-yard grab during the 2022 season when he played at Auburn.
Two plays later, King caught a three-yard touchdown pass from Barnes; it was his third touchdown reception as a Ute and fourth of his career.
 Defense
Utah allowed just 83 total yards of offense to Arizona State; it matches the California game in 2019 for fifth-lowest in program history.
Utah's five pass breakups tied a season high (5 vs. Cal).
Defensive end Connor O'Toole made his first start of the season and first since last season's Rose Bowl vs. Penn State.
Linebacker Levani Damuni tied a season-high, contributing 11 tackles for the second straight game. Damuni also assisted on a sack.
Defensive end Jonah Elliss had 1.5 sacks and now totals 11.5 for the season. It ranks ninth all-time for a single-season at Utah and is the most since Bradlee Anae had 13 during the 2019 season.Â
Elliss' two pass breakups marked his first game as a Ute with multiple PBUs.
O'Toole had a two-yard sack during the second quarter. It gives him three straight games with at least 1.0 TFL and a solo sack in two of the last three games.

Defensive tackle Aliki Vimahi had a season-best 1.0 sacks.
Safety Sione Vaki was credited a two-yard TFL during the second quarter, his first since the Oregon State game on Sept. 29.
Cornerback Miles Battle had an interception and ensuing 24-yard return during the third quarter. It was Battle's first interception as a Ute and third of his career; his last came vs. Troy in the 2022 season opener when Battle played at Ole Miss.
The Utah defense held ASU without a first down on its game-opening drive; it was the sixth time this season Utah has accomplished the feat.
Utah did not allow a third-down conversion (7 attempts) for Arizona State during the first half.
