Utah is back in action on Sunday at LMU.

FULLERTON, Calif. – The Utah women's tennis team fell short to No. 67 Cal State Fullerton on Saturday afternoon. The Utes were defeated by the Titans 4-3 at the Titan Tennis Courts.

"This was a tough match today," remarked head coach Ric Mortera. "The coming matches will show a lot about our character and who we are as competitors. I will continue to believe in this group and look forward to how we respond. We have a quick turnaround and need to be ready to take on a good team tomorrow."

The Titans opened with doubles and took the first doubles match with a 6-4 win in No. 2 doubles. Needing both to win the match, the Utes answered back and beat No. 1 doubles. Linda Huang and Madison Tattini came away with a 7-5 victory. Anya Lamoreaux and Lindsay Hung earned a 6-4 victory in No. 3 doubles. The win in No. 3 doubles clinched the doubles point for the Utes.

The Utes went ahead 2-0 in singles following a win in No. 1 singles. The No. 124 ranked singles player, Linda Huang, came away with a 6-3, 6-3 win.

The Titans took the next three matches and took the lead 3-2 over the Utes. The Titans came away with wins in No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6 singles.

Lindsay Hung answered back to tie the match at 3-3. Hung earned a 6-4, 6-2 earned the victory over Juliette Daries.

With the final match on the courts happening in No. 5 singles, Madison Tattini and Camila Garcia were locked in a tight battle. Tattini came way with a 6-3 victory in the first set. However, Garcia came back to set two, 6-1, forcing a third set. Tattini came back and battled in the third set but would come up short and fell 7-5, and Cal State Fullerton claimed the victory, 4-3, over Utah.
