DAVIS, Calif. – The University of Utah Men's Tennis program won its fourth match in a row today as they beat the UC Davis Aggies on the road, 4-0.
Despite falling behind in doubles on court two to start, Geronimo Busleiman and Mathias Gavelin got to work, winning 6-1 with Slava Shainyan and Francisco Bastias claiming a 6-2 victory on court one for the doubles point.
In singles play, Bastias continued his winning ways by picking up Utah's first win on court four, beating Andras Necz in two sets, 6-0, 6-1. His double's partner followed suit on court three, winning 7-5 in the first set followed by a 6-2 victory in the second to make it 3-0.
Gavelin finished things up for the Utes on court five, claiming the win with a quick 6-2, 6-4 victory for his eighth victory of the season when playing at No. 5.
The Utes will return to the George S. Eccles Tennis Center for a three-game home stand, starting on Friday, April 9 when they host Arizona State at 12 p.m. MT.
