First Serve
The Utah beach volleyball team will begin its fourth season as a program and third year under the leadership of head coach
Brenda Whicker.
Â
The team is traveling to the Bay Area to take on Cal and UC Davis to begin their 2020 season on Saturday, February 29. Their first dual is at 10 a.m. MT against Cal and then will play their second dual against UC Davis is at 4 p.m. MT.

The next day, the team will be at Stanford and take on the Cardinal at 12 p.m. MT followed by Hawaii right after at 2 p.m. MT.

About Cal
Cal began the season the previous weekend and went 1-1 dropping its opener to No. 14 Grand Canyon and then defeated Saint Mary's 5-0.

Madison Dueck and Alexia Inman are undefeated this season and moved their record to 20-4 overall on the fourth court. They were the one pair to get a win against Grand Canyon and the team swept Saint Mary's 5-0.

Mima Mirkovic plays in the first pair and is a two-time Pac-12 First Team member.

About UC Davis
UC Davis started the season last weekend and went 1-2 defeating Santa Clara before dropping two duals to San Jose State and Ottawa University.

About Stanford
Stanford has had a tough start to the season starting 0-5, but all five of those losses came to top-5 opponents in LSU, Hawaii and UCLA.

This weekend they are hosting Saint Mary's, Arizona State, Utah and Hawaii looking for their first win.

About Hawaii
Hawaii has started the season 3-2 after beating Stanford twice and LSU once. Their losses have come to LSU 1-4 and UCLA 2-3.

Playing in the Bay Area Classic, they will also be taking on Saint Mary's, Arizona State, Stanford and Utah this weekend.
Utah's Team
The Utes head into their first weekend of their fourth season as a program.
Â
They have had five student-athletes training through the fall to prepare for the 2020 season and now have the indoor players joining them for the season. Three of the beach only players are returning from last year and they've welcomed two grad transfers as well.
Â
Last season, Utah finished 5-9 overall matching the most wins the program has ever had.

Schedule
The Utes will spend the majority of their time in California and Arizona playing this season, but will also be hosting their own tournament once again.
Â
On April 10-11, Utah will host Salt Lake Community College, Colorado Mesa, Cal Poly and College of Southern Idaho.

Utah will travel to Los Angeles, Calif. and take on Oregon, Arizona State, Washington and USC for the weekend.
