SEATTLE, Wash. – The University of Utah men's tennis team battled the Washington Huskies tonight on the road, falling in a tough match 4-2. The Utes are 13-6 overall this season.Â
In doubles play, the Utes lost on court three to start, but came back to win on court two with
Azat Hankuliyev and
Dan Little coming away with a key 6-3 victory. Unfortunately, Washington took a 1-0 lead in the match after winning at No. 1 doubles to claim the doubles point.
Heading into singles play, the Utes quickly tied the match 1-1 with a win on the No. 6 court after
Joe Woolley pulled off a victory in straight sets (6-4, 6-2). The Utes lost on courts five and three before
Russell Benkaim cut the Husky lead to one with a huge point at No. 4 singles, winning 7-5, 6-3 to make it 3-2.Â

Unfortunately for the Utes, Washington would go on to win in a tough battle on court one to claim the 4-2 win. Little battled to a 6-3 win in the first set, but fell in final two sets of the match with the Huskies pulling away for the win.Â
The Utes will return to action on Sunday, March 31 when they take on the Oregon Ducks on the road. The match is set for a 12:30 p.m. MT start with live stats availableÂ
