Utah Vault Notes: I thought that was an exquisite vault by
Kari Lee. Jen
White says she maybe saw a small slide on the landing on replay, but I didn't see it.
Great air and amplitude by
Macey Roberts. Deduction was for a hop on her landing.
The UGA gymnasts blocked my view of
Alexia Burch's vault, but she bounced out
of her landing. MaKenna Merell-Giles also had trouble sticking her landing, lunging
out of it.
MyKayla Skinner went high, far and clean in the air, but couldn't quit stick
the landing cold.
Kim Tessen didn't get quit as much pop off the table as MaKenna
and MyKayla, although she came closer to sticking the landing.
Utah Bar Notes: Nice routine overall by
Kari Lee. Didn't quite hit her first handstand
and had a little hop on her landing. I thought
Hunter Dula's routine was really clean. Perhaps
I don't have the right angle on the handstands. She stuck her landing.
Kim Tessen's
routine also looked super clean and she stuck her dismount.
MaKenna Merrell-Giles
just performed a beauty. Big air, huge dismount, greats handstands.
Missy Reinstadtler
had an incredible routine up on the bars. Her only deduction was on her landing, when
she stepped back.
MyKayla Skinner floated through that routine. Clean everything, stuck
dismount.
Utah Beam Notes:
Kari Lee's beam routine was absolutely exquisite. I agreed with
the judge who gave her a 9.95. Really pretty.
Alexia Burch wasn't perfect (she had
a hop on her landing), but she covered a balance check nicely and looked confident.
Sydney Soloski was mostly clean. She had a little misstep coming off a leap and
came very close to sticking her landing. Incredible back to back routines from Adrienne
Randall (small hop on landing was her only error) and
MaKenna Merrell-Giles (clean
from start to finish).
Utah Floor Notes: Strong, clean routine by
Macey Roberts. Sorry I couldn't tell
where the deductions came from.. I thought
Kari Lee might have had a small stumble
on her first pass and that her head might have been a little low on her last tumbling pass, but Jen
White told me I was wrong. She usually judges a lot harder than I do.
Alexia Burch replaced
Adrienne Randall in the floor lineup due to a wrist injury to Randall. She had a strong start but
went out of bounds on her final tumbling pass, which was already a bit off.
Sydney Soloski
nailed her double back but seemed to bounce out of two other tumbling passes.
Tom Farden
told us before the meet that we had really "live" legs on floor. Maybe a little too live. That
was a beautiful routine by
MaKenna Merrell-Giles. She was rock solid, beautiful leaps, great
tumbling, no bounces. That was flat out a perfect routine by
MyKayla Skinner. Even people on
the Georgia scorer's table were in shock and thought she deserved a 10.0, which one judge
gave her. Wow that was an amazing routine. Her first pass brought a gasp from the crowd.
