PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – No. 21 Utah finished the Villanova Volleyball Invitational by beating High Point in four sets on Saturday, September 8 to finish the tournament 2-1.

Dani Drews had her second double-double of the day and leading the team with 18 kills and having 12 digs.

Megan Yett also had a nice match finishing with a career high 14 kills.

After dropping the opening set, the Utes responded in the second by taking an early 8-5 lead. Utah used another run in the middle of the set to grab an 18-11 lead. High point tightened things up a little bit, but couldn't overcome the big deficit as Utah evened the match at one set a piece.

The third set was tight almost all the way through as both teams traded points until Utah went on a 4-1 run to take a 19-17 lead. Once the Utes got some breathing room, they kept their foot on the gas to take the lead in the match closing out the set 25-20.

Carrying the momentum from the third set, Utah took a big 11-4 lead in the fourth, but High Point came back and tied the score later in the set. With the score tied at 23, Drews got the final two kills of the match to give the Utes the win.

Bailey Choy finished the match with 46 assists and 11 digs.

Drews and Choy were both named to the all-tournament team. Drews finished the tournament with 59 kills, 43 digs and 10 service aces. She averaged 4.21 kills per set.

Choy averaged 10.9 assists per set finishing the weekend with 153 assists.

The Utes have two more non-conference matches this season beginning with No. 3 BYU next Thursday, September 13. Then, Utah will be back on its home floor hosting Utah Valley on Friday, September 14.
