SALT LAKE CITY- The No. 15-ranked Utah Utes closed out its home stand in sweeping fashion (27-25, 25-16, 25-17) against the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday night in the Huntsman Center. Utah moved to 12-3 on the season and 3-1 in Pac-12 play, while Oregon State dropped to 10-6 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

Utah and Oregon State traded points early in the first set until a kill from
Adora Anae gave the Utes a 12-11 lead. A block from
Carly Trueman sent Utah into the media timeout leading 15-12, but out of the timeout, the Beavers outscored the Utes 7-2 to force a Utah timeout trailing Oregon State 19-17. Oregon State earned its first set point at 24-22, but Trueman notched two straight kills to even the score at 24-24. Utah earned set point from an Oregon State net violation and a block from
Tawnee Luafalemana would give the Utes the first set 27-25.

Oregon State would open the second frame with a point, but it was Utah who would run off seven straight points to take an early lead 7-1. Midway through the set, the Beavers made a push and cut the lead to just 15-11, but Utah scored three straight to force Oregon State into its final timeout of the set. After Oregon State scored out of the timeout, the Utes put together a 4-0 run to build its largest lead of the set at 22-12. Utah would later take the 2-0 lead in the match after clinching the second set 25-16.

Tied 11-11 in the third set after back-and-forth play, the Utes went on a 4-1 run to head into the media timeout leading 15-12. The Beavers wouldn't go away without a fight and cut the Ute lead to just 17-16, but a kill from Trueman and two kills from Luafalemana pushed the lead to 20-16. Utah completed the sweep after closing out the final set scoring five straight points, to win 25-17.

Utah led Oregon State in hitting percentage (.266-.129), kills (50-36), assists (49-35), digs (69-53), and total blocks (9.0-7.0).

Anae and
Bailey Choy both posted their sixth double-double on the season for Utah. Anae registered 11 kills and 15 digs, while Choy totaled 29 assists and 11 digs.

Trueman led the Utes with 13 kills, while
Berkeley Oblad added nine kills for Utah along with six total blocks. Luafalemana posted eight kills and
Dani Barton totaled five kills and five blocks in the win.

Brianna Doehrmann notched a season-high 17 digs and
Shannon Scully added in nine digs.
Camryn Machado dished out 12 assists for the Utes.

Utah hits the road next week for a pair of Pac-12 matches, facing Washington and Washington State. The Utes face Washington on Friday, Oct. 6, at 9 p.m. MT and close out the weekend on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 12 p.m. MT against Washington State.Â
