The 2017 class features a total of eight newcomers, which includes seven incoming freshmen and one junior college transfer.

"This class is strong in both talent and numbers," said Utah head coach
Beth Launiere. "We believe they will have a great impact on the Utah volleyball program throughout their careers. We are excited to have these players in our program and cannot wait to start working with them."
Utah's No. 11 overall ranking is the first top-30 ranking since 2011 (No. 20) and it matches the highest ranking ever in school history. Utah's recruiting class of 2005, which included Lori Baird, Shannon Krug, Kathryn Lovell-Haynie and Airal Salvo, was also ranked No. 11 overall.
Utah also registered top-30 recruiting classes back in 2004 (No. 28) and 2006 (No. 27).
Utah's recruiting class also ranked among the best in the Pac-12. The 2017 incoming class ranked higher than Arizona (No. 12), California (No. 15), USC (No. 16), Oregon State (No. 19), Stanford (HM), Washington (HM) and Washington State (HM).
"I would like acknowledge the work of both my staff and our current players for the work they put into the recruiting process," said Launiere. "Recruiting is the pipeline of the program and everyone involved is doing their part to continue the great tradition of Utah volleyball."
