FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Utah set a school record in the 200 medley relay during the first evening of the Pac-12 Men's Swimming Championships.
The grouping of
Paul Ungur,
Jack Burton,
Colten Montgomery, and
McKay King finished the event in1:25.45, almost a full two seconds faster than the previous mark set at the 2015 Pac-12 Championships. Burton was part of the record-setting quartet that evening as well.
In the 800 free,
Rahiti De Vos,
Daniel McArthur,
Liam O'Haimhirgin and
Austin Phillips were 12 seconds better than their previous top time of the season, finishing in 6:22.44 and earning sixth place.
Both relays were good enough for NCAA consideration.
The Pac-12 Championships will continue tomorrow at 11 a.m. PT with the prelims of the 500 free, 200 IM and 50 free. The finals of those events will get underway at 6 p.m. PT along with the 200 free relay.
