SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Swimming split up on Friday evening for competition at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational in Fort Myers and the Intermountain Shootout in Grand Junction, Colo.

After one day of competition, Utah's men's team sits third while the women's squad sits fifth.
Jack Burton capped a solid showing by the Utes with a win in the 100nbreast, claiming the top spot with a time of 53.93. Stina Colleou had an impressive swim for the women, finishing third with a time of 1:03.96.
In the 400 IM, Ethan Dillard was third with a time of 4:01.53 and on the women's side, Jordan Anderson took fourth (4:23.64).
Freshman Rahiti De Vos took second in the 200 free with a time of 1:38.32 and fellow newcomer Sarah Lott was also the runner-up in the same event for the women's team with a time of 1:50.57.
McKay King was third in the 50 free touching in at 20.96 and on the other side, Gillian St.John was fourth (23.84) for the Utes.
In the 100 fly, Ben Scott took third (50.06) while Darby Wayner finished fifth in the event with a time of 55.91. Cole Avery finished third in the 200 back with a time of 1:51.22 and Megan Kawauchi taking sixth, touching in at 2:04.55.
In relay action, Paul Unger, Burton, Ben Scott and King took second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:30.20. The women's 200 medley relay team consisting of Shayla Archer, Mariah Gassaway, Kristine Pataray and St.John took third (1:42.79).
In the 400 free relay, Liam O'Haimhirgin, King, Colten Montgomery and Tommy Baker were second touching in at 3:02.17. The women's team of Dorien Butter, Lott, St.John and Wayner took fifth (3:25.93).
The FGCU Invitational is scheduled to begin its second day of action at 10:30 a.m. ET
INTERMOUNTAIN SHOOTOUT
Highlights on the first day included a pair of wins in the 400 IM and Matteo Sogne capturing the 1650 free.
Utah started brightly in the 400 IM with Brianna Francis taking first for the women's team (4:29.85) and Nolan Rogers winning for the men (4:03.89).
Francis also took sixth in the 100 IM (1:00.07) while Rogers was fourth in the event (52.73).
Claiming the top two spots in the men's 1,650 free were freshmen Matteo Sogne (15.48.57) and Brody Lewis (16.05.19). Kat Wickham had an impressive swim as well, placing second in 17:31.71
The Utes had a pair of third-place finishes in the 100 breast with McKenna Gassway clocking in with a time of 1:06.72 and Keanu Interone recording a time of 57.79
Two more top-five finishes were attained in the 50 fly as Jenna Marsh (26.47) and Adam Shelton (23.37) were able to get positive results for the Utes.
Other solid results were turned in by Mallori Allen in the 100 back (5th, 58.17), Claire Jackson in the 50 free (6th, 24.36), Jeremy Young in the 400 free (7th, 1:43.04) and Fernando Cervantes in the 50 free (9th, 21.44)
In relay action, the team of Jenna Griffith, Gassaway, Marsh and Kenzie Ford took fourth in the 200 medley with a time of 1:47.28. The men's team of Evan Indahl, Interone, Nick Lafleur and Cervantes took seventh (1:36.75).
