Volleyball Inks a Pair of Players to NLI's

Glasker, a 5-10 outside hitter from South Jordan, Utah, is currently a senior at Bingham High School where she plays under her mother and head coach Melissa Glasker. A two-time region MVP as a sophomore and junior and a first-team all-state selection last season, Glasker has recorded more than 1,200 kills, nearly 1,300 digs, 105 blocks and 149 aces in her four-year career as a player on Bingham's varsity squad.
Glasker has posted more than 400 kills and has tallied a .331 hitting percentage during her senior campaign. She led her high school squad to a 27-5 overall record and an 11-1 in-region mark this season. Her 407 kills ranks fifth most in the state this season.
"Torre is a terrific volleyball player," Launiere said. "Her volleyball IQ is high and she is a tremendous athlete. She makes us better because of her overall ability to play the game."
Choy, a 5-9 setter from Honolulu, Hawaii, is currently a senior at 'Iolani High School where she played under head coach Kainoa Obrey. Choy is ranked the No. 1 player coming out of the state of Hawaii.
Choy recorded 926 assists this past season, which ranks 239th in the nation and No. 1 in the state, to go along with 299 digs during her senior campaign. She also posted 40 service aces this past season and helped lead her team to a record of 38-6 overall and a 14-1 mark in league play. Choy guided her squad to the OIA Division I Championship match where she posted 44 assists and 24 digs in the contest.
"Bailey is a great all-around volleyball player that brings a great knowledge of the game to the setting position," Launiere said. "She can do all of the skills well, is very quick and can run a nice offense. She is going to fit into our system wonderfully."
SALT LAKE CITY - Utah Volleyball signed two players to National Letters-of-Intent to join the Utes in 2016, head coach Beth Launiere announced on Wednesday.
Torre Glasker and Bailey Choy signed their NLI's today and look to join the squad in the fall of 2016.
"We are excited for both Torre and Bailey to join our program," Launiere said. "They both come from great volleyball backgrounds, are tremendous athletes and great people."
