SALT LAKE CITY - The No. 23-ranked Utah volleyball team will learn tonight if they earned an at-large bid into the 2014 NCAA Championship Tournament, with the selection show scheduled to air tonight at 6:30 p.m. (MST) on ESPNU.
The Utes went 19-12 overall and finished in a tied for seventh-place in the Pac-12 with a record of 9-11 in league play. Utah currently ranks No. 23 in the nation, according to the latest AVCA poll, and No. 46 in the most current RPI rankings that were released the past Monday, Nov. 24.
Utah finished the 2014 campaign with three-straight wins and defeating seven of its final eight opponents. Five of Utah's last seven wins came against top-ranked opponents, which includes a win over then No. 2-ranked Washington just a few weeks back. The Utes closed out the regular-season with a 3-1 win over Colorado on Friday at the Huntsman Center.
The Utes are seeking its second-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 13th overall. Utah earned an at-large bid into last season's tournament and picked up a win in the first round over Yale before falling to eventual National Champions, Penn State, in the second round.
Utah has an all-time record of 11-11 in the NCAA Tournament, with all 22 postseason matches coming under the direction of current head coach Beth Launiere.
