CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - In the final day of the Virginia Winter Invitational, the No. 58 Utes took on No. 31 Tennessee where the Utes collected four wins across singles and doubles play.
Sarah Pham continued her tournament success as she narrowly defeated Brittany Lindle out of the No. 2 singles spot, 4-6, 6-4, 11-9. Pham was paired with Callie Craig in the No. 3 doubles spot where the due topped Tiffany Tavarez and Victoria Olivarez, 6-4.
Paige Miles also won both her contests. The Utah senior struck down Laurence Guevremont in No. 5 singles and collaborated with Tereza Bekerova to get the win in No. 1 doubles against Joanna Henerson and Lindle, 6-3.
No. 107 Bekerova was defeated in the No. 1 singles position by No. 53 Eve Repic (3-6, 7-6, 10-5), as Sarah Richter also fell in the No. 3 spot to Tavares (6-3, 4-6, 10-7).
The Utes will spend the upcoming weekend in Los Angeles as they take on Saint Mary's on Jan. 25 and No. 5 USC on Jan. 26.
