Medinilla Advances in Pre-Qualifying Draw

TULSA, Okla. - The University of Utah men's tennis team's juniors Devin Lane and Alejandro Medinilla completed the first two rounds of pre-qualifying play Saturday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Medinilla earned a victory in the second round to advance to the third round of the pre-qualifying draw.
After enjoying a bye during the first round, Medinilla returned to action and netted a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Memphis's pre-qualfying draw fourth seeded David O'Hare in the second round. Medinilla will next face Vukasin Teofanovic of Marquette Sunday at 1:30 p.m., in the third round. Fellow Ute Lane dropped a 6-1, 6-3 decision in the first round to Mississippi State's Zach White.
Medinilla is slated for the third round Sunday at 1:30 p.m., while sophomore Rafael Davidian prepares for qualifying play Monday.
