SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's tennis team has been recognized for its academic achievements with the 2010-11 ITA All Academic Team Award. In addition to receiving the team honor, sophomores Garrett LaBarre and Brad Weaver were recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes for their individual academic efforts.
"I would like to congratulate Brad and Garrett on their individual rewards, as well as the complete team for their accomplishments in the classroom," said head coach F. D. Robbins. "We are very proud of all the hard work our guys put in last year, both on the court and in the classroom."
To earn the ITA All-Academic Team award, teams must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or above. To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, individuals must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.50 for the current academic year, be a varsity letter winner, and be enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
