FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Utah's Benito Suriano has been named a 2010-11 men's tennis all-Mountain West Conference selection in singles, the league office announced Wednesday. This is Suriano's first career all-conference recognition.
"Benito has worked very hard and has had a great year because of it," said head coach F.D. Robbins. "I think it is very deserving and I am very proud of him"
Suriano compiled the Utes' best MWC dual-match record, going 3-2 at the Nos. 1 and 2 positions. Suriano has put together the best year of his career thus far, compiling more dual-match singles wins in 2010-11 than his previous two seasons combined.
Suriano has also received previous recognition for his success in the classroom, earning Academic all-MWC honors in 2009.
