Several swimmers stepped up and put on big performances to contribute points to the Utes.
Austin Fiascone won the 100 back with a time of 51.60, just milliseconds shy of his personal best, and beat out UNLV's 100 fly honorable mention All-American selection Cody Roberts for the top spot in the meet.
An exact tie in the 50 free gave Nick Soedel the partial win (21.00).
Danielle Caldwell took first in the 200 back with a time of 2:05.32 while Nicole Ligeza took top honors in the 200 IM (2:08.37).
Hannah Caron grabbed wins in the 100 free (53.25) and the 200 fly (2:08.90) and Traycie Swartz won the 50 free (23.85) and the 100 back (56.82).

Quoting Coach Winslow
"Air Force is a really deep team and is well coached. This meet will be a good measuring stick to see how we've improved," said Utah head coach Greg Winslow. "It is always a challenge to swim in USAFA because of the altitude."
"At Colorado School of Mines, we will get to see kids doing different things and swim in races that maybe aren't their best."
"The back-to-back-to-back meets will help us to prepare for the conference meet, which is run in the same way. This will be a good final look at our kinds in racing form before we get into hardcore training. This is an exciting year and I am proud of where our team is."
Last Meeting
The Utah men faced Air Force in their first meet of the 2011-12 season at the Intermountain Shootout. The Utes came out on top with a 190-164 victory.
Scouting the Opposition
The Air Force men's team lost standout swimmer and MWC 200 fly champion Benjamin Gunn to graduation, but it return three of five all-MWC swimmers including Corydon Bultler, Paul Leonhardt and Tim Marinelli.
Colorado School of Mines returns All-American Andrew Zerwick. Zerwick placed second in the 200 back at the NCAA Championships in 2011 while also placing 13th in the 100 back to earn the honors.
