Utah Women's Tennis Begins Invitational Play Friday

SALT LAKE CITY- The University of Utah women's tennis team hosts the Utah Invitational this weekend, Nov. 4-6, at the Eccles Tennis Center in Salt Lake City. Tournament play begins Friday (Nov. 4), at 9 a.m. MT with the first round of doubles, followed by the first and second singles rounds.
In the first round of doubles play, the sophomore duo of Lucia Kovarcikova and Sarah Pham will face the team of Katharina Marsela and Laura Porras of Idaho State, while the freshmen tandem of Danielle Flores and Natasha Smith will take on Idaho State's Laura Severino and Marian Tangarife.
In round one of singles draw-A play, Pham will take on Marsela of Idaho St., while Kovarcikova will face LSU's Whitney Wolf. Flores will take on Kaitlin Burns of LSU, while Smith will take on Boise State's Sonia Klamczynska.
In the first round of singles draw-B play, freshman Sammie Watson will face Severino of Idaho State.
