Schofield led the team this season with 2.95 kills per set, the second consecutive year in which a freshman has led Utah in kills. Defensively, she was third on the squad with 2.63 digs per set.
Schofield ended her first Utah campaign with 16 double-figure-kill matches and 14 double-digit-dig outings. This year, she led or tied for the team lead in kills 10 times and led or tied for team-high honors in digs six times. She has also led the way in blocks twice.
The freshman posted eight double-doubles this season, including a match-high 15 kills and a career-high 19 digs against Oregon State on Sept. 23.
Schofield set her career-high with 22 kills on 48 swings with six errors for a .333 hitting percentage in a win over Washington State on Nov. 19. She also pounded down 21 kills at Arizona State on Nov. 12.
On her way to a Yale Invitational All-Tournament Team selection, Schofield hit for 17 kills at Yale on Sept. 3 and registered a .353 hitting percentage versus Colgate on Sept. 2. She was also named to the Utah Invitational All-Tournament Team after turning in 17 kills to go with 12 digs for her first career double-double performance against Eastern Michigan on Sept. 9. She then had 13 kills on 23 swings with only two errors for a season-high .478 efficiency against UC Riverside on Sept. 10.
The Provo, Utah native ended her freshman season with a team-high 11 kills and also had 11 digs in last Wednesday's sweep of Colorado.
