SALT LAKE CITY - Seven student-athletes from the University of Utah women's cross country team earned All-Academic Team accolade from the Pac-12 Conference on Wednesday. Seniors Alyssa Abbott and Alexis Davis were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team.
"We are all extremely proud of these young women who work so hard to perform at a high level in everything they do," Utah head coach Kyle Kepler said. "Being part of the first ever Pac-12 All-Academic Team is a well deserved honor for them and our program."
Throughout the year, Abbott led the team on the course and now was recognized for her 3.89 GPA. Davis, a pharmacy major, posted a 3.87 GPA on top of a solid senior cross country season.
Earning Honorable Mention recognition were Amanda Mergaert, Katelyn Stringfellow, Hilary Troutner, Rebekah Winterton, and Lucy Yates.
