Applin Finishes First in 100 Breaststroke at USA Swimming Sectionals

HOUSTON - Incoming freshman Karson Applin represented the University of Utah swimming & diving team at the USA Swimming Southern Zone Sectional meet on the University of Houston campus last weekend. Applin won the 100 breaststoke event, recording a personal best in the event with his time of 1:04.46.
The performance qualified Applin for the USA Swimming Championships at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash., Aug. 4-8.
Applin also competed in the 200 freestyle event, finishing 15th with a time of 1:57.70.
