Baque and VanLeeuwen Compete at 2009 Conoco Phillips National Championships

INDIANAPOLIS - Rising seniors John Baque and Annie VanLeeuwen represented the University of Utah swimming and diving team last week at the 2009 Conoco Phillips National Championships in the IUPUI Natatorium. Both student-athletes recorded a pair of lifetime bests in their respective events.
Baque registered a new lifetime-best time in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:22.03 in the third heat of the competition. He finished 31st overall.
VanLeeuwen set a new personal best in the preliminary round of the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:15.27 in the first heat of the event to place 64th overall.
