SALT LAKE CITY - The 67th-ranked Utah women's tennis team (9-12, 3-5 MWC) heads to the MWC Championship Tournament April 22-25 in Albuquerque, N.M. The sixth-seeded Utes will take on 41st-ranked, third-seeded San Diego State (17-7, 6-2 MWC) in the quarterfinal round April 23 at 10 a.m..
"We are very much looking forward to our rematch with SDSU," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "The individual match-ups are going to be different, but I feel that it still going to be a very competitive match."
Last year at the tournament, fourth-seeded Utah ousted fifth-seeded BYU in the quarterfinal round 4-0, but fell to top-seeded TCU in the semis.
The Utes are looking to reverse the outcome of the 5-2 loss they suffered against the Aztecs on April 18.
The winner of Thursday's Utah/SDSU match will take on the winner of the TCU/Colorado State Friday, April 24 at 10 a.m.
