SALT LAKE CITY - The 49-ranked Utah women's tennis team (9-6, 3-0) heads to Fort Worth, Texas to take on conference rivals 28th-ranked TCU (7-9, 1-1) Friday, April 3, at 2 p.m. CT and New Mexico (5-11, 0-2) Saturday, April 4, at 10 a.m. CT at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
"This is a big weekend for us," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "In the past several years both TCU and New Mexico have established themselves as two of the premiere teams in the conference. It's great to be going to Texas to try to win two big matches."
Last year Utah fell to TCU, 7-0, and New Mexico, 4-3, Albuquerque, N.M.
The Utes are coming off a 3-0 sweep of conference opponents this past weekend. Utah defeated Colorado State, 7-0, Wyoming, 7-0, and Air Force, 6-1.
TCU split their conference matches over the weekend, topping San Diego State 5-2, but falling to UNLV, 4-3. The Horned Frogs will take on BYU April 4, and New Mexico April 5 after meeting with the Utes.
New Mexico dropped 4-3 decisions to both UNLV and San Diego State over the weekend. The Lobos will meet BYU April 3, before taking on the Utes.
