PROVO, Utah - Freshman Ellis Walters won the women's 1-meter dive and was the runner-up in the 3-meter dive to help the University of Utah diving team put together an impressive performance last Saturday in the BYU Diving Invitational at the Stephen L. Richards Building.
"We were excited to gain some valuable experience last weekend," Utah head diving coach Kelsey Patterson said. "Brandon and Ellis had great meets, especially, scoring personal-bests on the boards. It is always fun to revisit the rivalry and we look forward to seeing the Cougars at the dual meet on Feb. 6 [in Provo]."
Walters won the 1-meter dive with a season-best total of 288.90, a mark that stands third in the Mountain West Conference this season. The Indianapolis, Ind., native also had a season-high score of 282.53 to place second in the 3-meter dive. Walters' 3-meter score ranks as the 10th-highest total in the conference this season.
