Eilers Advances To Final Rounds At Mountain Regional Championships

LAS VEAS, Nev. - The University of Utah men's tennis team saw Phillip Eilers advance to the singles final round and the doubles final round with partner Alex Golding during the fourth day of the ITA Mountain Regional Championships at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
No. 3 seeded Eilers defeated No. 10 seeded Wessim Derbel of University Nevada Reno, 6-3, 6-3, advancing him into the final round. Eilers will see No. 12 seeded Vincente Joli of Boise State in the finals.
In the main draw semifinal round No. 4 seeded Eilers and Golding defeated No. 1 seeded Andrew Landwerlen and David Simson of Denver, 8-6. The Ute duo will face No. 6 seeded Luca Barlocchi and Mehdi Bouras of UNLV in the final round.
A win in the final round at the Regional Championships will receive automatic entry into the ITA National Indoor Championships.
