SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's tennis team rebounded after losing to Boise State on Tuesday to pull out a 4-3 victory over No. 60 UC Irvine. The Utes swept doubles play and fought hard in singles to ensure the win.

The Utes came back to Eccles Tennis Center on Wednesday with refreshed legs and minds ready to play against the Anteaters. In doubles play, Zach Ganger and Miron Mann finished up first at the top spot against Alex Sundling and Khunpol Issara from UC Irvine. The Ute duo earned an effortless 8-2 win to start off the day.

At the No. 3 spot, Othman Zerouali-Ouariti and John Taylor defeated Trevor Dobson and Douglas Taylor 8-5 to give Utah the doubles point. Wes Hancock and Timmy Allin finished out the Anteaters at the No. 2 spot on Wednesday. The Ute duo took on Victor Lamm and Ajay Ahluwalia for a hard fought 8-7(4) win.

On Tuesday UC Irvine defeated BYU 4-3 after losing the doubles point to the Cougars, so they showed little distress as they walked onto the courts for singles play. Knowing this, the Utes stepped up ready for the challenge. Ganger took on Sundling at the top spot for a 6-3, 6-3 win to give Utah a quick 2-0 lead.

At the No. 2 spot, Mann stepped in to face No. 106 Victor Lamm from the Anteaters. The Ute's serves were almost unstoppable as he skillfully notched a 6-3, 6-2 win over Lamm.

Clinching the victory for Utah was Hancock at the No. 4 spot. The Ute faced Khunpol Issara for a two set battle. Hancock ousted Issara, outplaying him 6-2, 6-3 for the win.
