SAN DIEGO, CALIF. - The University of Utah men's tennis team fell to Princeton University on Wednesday 5-2. Utah's seniors Zach Ganger and Miron Mann both won their matches in singles play after the two fell at the top spot in doubles play to Carpeni and Krueger-Wyman.
In doubles play, Wes Hancock and Timmy Allin stepped it up again on Wednesday. The Ute duo earned the only victory in doubles play for Utah at the No. 3 spot over Gobel and Faust (8-4).
In singles play, Ganger took on Peter Capkovic at the top position. This match was one of five matches being decided by a third set. The Ute fell in the first half, but came back in the second for a 6-4 win. Rounding out the third set, the two went to battle, but it was Ganger that walked away victorious. The Ute earned a 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 victory.
Playing at the No. 3 spot, Mann took on Alex Krueger-Wyman from Princeton. The Tiger put up a 6-3 win in the first set, only to get shut down 6-4 in the second set as Mann stepped up his game. In the final set, the Ute only allowed the Tiger three games as he took the win 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
