SALT LAKE CITY- The University of Utah women's tennis team received a National Letter of Intent from Paige Miles of Juan Diego Catholic High School in Salt Lake City, announced head coach Mat Iandolo Monday.
"Signing Paige Miles is a big breakthrough for our program," said head coach Iandolo. "She is the best Utah player signed since Megan Payne-Dorny and the best high school senior to come out of this state since Lauren McFarland. Not only is Paige a tremendous player, she is also somebody who is going to make the people around her better just by in her presence."
Miles is a four time Utah state 3A singles champ and the top recruit in the region. Miles also remained undefeated against high school competition, ending with a perfect 72-0 record. She chose the University of Utah because "It's a good school with good tennis. I felt it was a good fit."
"I am very excited and anxious to start playing," Miles said. " I like all the girls and am looking forward to being on a team with them. I am also very excited to have Mat [Iandolo] as a coach."
