THIS WEEK
The University of Utah women's tennis team will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. this week for the Mountain West Conference Tournament. U.S. Air Force Academy will be hosting the tournament this year which runs from April 26-28, 2007.
OPPOSITION
The Utes will face No. 3 seed UNLV in the tournament on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. MST. The Rebels currently hold a No. 55 national ranking by the ITA, who last released their rankings on April 17, 2007. The squad is 17-6 in dual match play and 6-2 in conference play as they head into the conference tournament.
Elena Gantcheva compiled a 17-5 dual match record this year and is currently ranked No. 64 by the ITA. Gantcheva teams up with Kristina Nedeltcheva at the top spot for the Rebels. The duo is currently ranked No. 15 in the nation with a 19-2 dual record.
UTE NOTES
The University of Utah women's tennis team will compete in the tournament as the No. 6 seed. Although not currently ranked by the ITA, the squad has compiled a 13-10 dual record and are 3-5 in conference play.
Elizabeth Ferris is currently ranked No. 123 in the nation with an 18-2 season record. Ferris teams up with Leigh Walsh in doubles play at the top spot; the duo has compiled a 13-6 dual record. Updated rankings from the ITA will be released on April 24, 2007.
