Utes Host First Cross Country Meet Of The Year

THIS WEEK The Utes host the Utah Fall Twilight Friday, Sept. 29 at 5:30 p.m. The 6K race will be held at Rose Park Golf Course in Salt Lake City, Utah. The race will include some of the best collegiate runner in the Mountain region. Teams also participating in the race include Air Force, BYU, Nevada, UVSC, Utah, Weber State, and Westminster.
LAST WEEK The Utes had the week off and took advantage of the opportunity to get in some extra training and regroup after the first couple weeks of competing.
UTE NOTES The Utes are excited to host their first meet of the year at the Utah fall Twilight. Last week they had a tough week of training to continue to grow physically and mentally.
Rose Park Golf Course will also be the site of the 2006 Mountain West Conference Cross Country Championships. This will be the first time ever the MWC Championships will be held in Salt Lake City.
KEPLER'S QUOTES "We are excited to host our first home meet," Coach Kyle Kepler says, "The girls are particularly excited to have friends and family come and watch them compete."
"This will be our first 6K race this year so we will use it to increase our stamina and prepare for the Mountain West Conference Championships in October."
NEXT WEEK The Utes will make their way to Fayetteville, Ark. for the 10K 18th annual Chili Pepper Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m.
