Utah Women's Tennis Send Singles Player Into Tourny Finals

PROVO, Utah - The University of Utah women's tennis team ended day two of the BYU Invitational on Friday with Cheyenne Reveche advancing into the Finals for singles play.

Reveche started competition off on Friday in the Quarterfinals of the Flight 2 bracket. She played No. 3 seeded Anastesia Opata of Washington State for a 6-3, 6-2 win that placed her in the Semifinals. For the Semifinals, Reveche faced No. 2 seed Stacey Housley of Boise State. The two battled hard, but Reveche stepped it up to take the first set at 7-5, and then come back to take the second set 6-2 for the win over Housley. The Ute will face Alexsandra Stefanova of Washington State on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

Playing in Flight 2 singles as well, was Karine Bourdages. The sophomore went head-to-head with opponent Alexsandra Stefanova of Washington State for three sets. The exhausting battle ended in a 6-7(4), 6-2, 6-4 win for Stefanova.

In Flight 1 singles, Elizabeth Ferris put up a fight to win (6-1, 6-4) in the Quarterfinals against Marjokein Van de Ven of Washington State. Moving into the Semifinals, No. 2 seed Ute faced Lauren Jones of BYU. The rivals battled through three sets, but the Cougar came out victorious with a 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-4 win over Ferris.
