SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah volleyball team (27-3 overall) earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, making its ninth straight appearance in the big dance. The Utes will off to Los Angeles for a first-round date with Michigan State on Friday, Dec. 1, at 5:30 p.m. (PST).
The host school for Utah's first- and second-rounds is UCLA, and all matches will be played in the venerable Pauley Pavilion. The Bruins are the No. 4 seed and will play Alabama-Birmingham in the first round. That match will start at 8 p.m. (PST).
The winners will play on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. (PST).

Michigan State is 19-11 overall and finished sixth in the Big Ten with a 10-10 league mark.
Utah is seeded in the Honolulu, Hawaii, region.
The Utes aren't the only Mountain West Conference school to get into the tourney. Brigham Young is also seeded in the Honolulu Region and will begin the tournament playing on the campus of USC. Colorado State is in the Seattle Region and plays first- and second-round matches in Boulder, Colo.
