COLUMBUS, OHIO - University of Utah's Zach Ganger represented the men's tennis team on Thursday in the first round of the ITA National Indoor Championships. Challenged by Erling Tveit of Mississippi, Ganger fell 6-1, 6-4, which will move the Ute into the Men's Consolation bracket beginning on Friday.
Ganger, a junior, faced No.8 nationally ranked Erling Tveit of Mississippi for the first round of tournament. Tveit forced a powerful 6-1 win in the first set of the match. Ganger tried to answer back in the second, but could not hold the Ole Miss Rebel back long enough. Tveit took the second set 6-4 and the match. Ganger will move into the Men's Consolation bracket that begins on Friday at 3:30 EST. The Ute will face Jared Drucker, a freshman, of Columbia University.
