Pacific Palisades, Calif. - Elizabeth Ferris continues to work her magic at the Riviera ITA All-American Championships in the Consolation Bracket after a big win over Anca Anastasiu of USC in the Quarterfinals.
No. 79 Ferris faced No. 49 Anastasiu of the University of Southern California on Thursday in the Quarterfinals of the Consolation Bracket. The two battled in the first set for Ferris to take it 6-4, but the Trojan wanted war in the second set. The two fought back-and-forth until the set was determined by a tie-breaker in Ferris' favor. The Ute advances into the semifinals after the 6-4, 7-6(1) victory over Anastasiu.
On Friday Ferris will play Sarah Fansler of USC, the first unranked opponent she has competed against thus far in the competition. The Utah junior will face the Trojan freshman at 10:00 a.m. PT.
