Pacific Palisades, Calif. - Elizabeth Ferris of the Utah women's tennis team continues in the consolation bracket of the Riviera ITA All-American Championships after a 6-4, 7-6(1) win over Marianne Baker of Maryland in the Round of 16.
No. 79 Ferris advances in the consolation bracket after a hard-hitting win against No. 69 Baker in the Round of 16 on Wednesday. The two played through two sets to complete the match. Ferris took the first set 6-4, but Baker challenged her for the second set. It was a back-and-forth set ending in a 7-6(1) tie breaker in favor of Ferris.
The Ute will move on to the next round of the consolation bracket on Thursday. The Ute will compete against No. 49 Anca Anastasiu of the University of Southern California at 10:00 a.m. PT.
