THIS WEEK The University of Utah cross country team will host the 2006 MWC Championships at Rose Park Golf Course. The Championships will begin on Sat. Oct. 28. The women's 6k race will begin at 10 a.m., while the men's 8k is at 11 a.m.
LAST WEEK Utah had last week off.
UTE NOTES The women will race on a 6k course and the men an 8k, at Rose Park Golf Course. The teams participating in the championship race are Air Force, BYU, Colorado State, University of New Mexico, San Diego State, TCU, UNLV, University of Utah, and Wyoming.
SPECTATORS Arrive early parking is at a premium. There is additional parking at the Jordan River par 3 golf course.
KEPLER'S QUOTES "This is an exciting week full of suspense," Coach Kyle Kepler says, "Were trying not to let our emotions overrun us this week. Our main focus is not to over-train but make sure the athletes are getting enough rest."
Kepler ends with, "Its time to run fast, this is our first championship meet this season and we are in the best shape of the year."
NEXT WEEK The Utes will have next weekend off to prepare for the NCAA Mountain Regional Championships in Albuquerque, NM. On Nov. 11.
