Salt Lake City, Utah - The University of Utah men's tennis team had an amazing finish today after a doubleheader vs. instate rivals Weber and Utah State. Zach Ganger defeated his opponent Johannes Zelle of Utah State, 6-3, 6-0, during singles at the No. 1 spot.
"It is always difficult to play and win two matches in one and we are happy to get by two tough in-state rivals today," said assistant coach Graeme Cox. "The team played well as a whole and I think that we learned a lot about our team identity today."
"We are still battling some injuries and our guys just managed to play through them which says a lot about their character," adds Cox. "The willingness of our team to play hurt shows you what a good group of guys we have here."
Next up, the men's tennis team will compete against the University of Denver on February 3, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
