Utah Head Coach Elaine Elliott
On the victory: "It was nice to see some enjoyment out there. Our kids kind of, after a slow start, really cranked it up. It started at the defensive end, getting some pressure on them. That got us running and rolling and that gets you smiling. Then, all of a sudden kids are feeling good and good things happen. It was a good game for us."
On Kim Smith and Julie Larsen: "We have good shooters. Kim has not done as well from the 3-point line as she normally would do. It is only a matter of time, I mean the kid is a great shooter and she struggled for the first four games in the league. This is a nice sign, because she can shoot the basketball and she certainly did tonight. Julie is the same way, but like I said, I really like that Julie's overall game is what's improving. She is getting to the rim. She can shot-fake you and put it on the floor. Things always feel good when you hit shots."
Utah Senior Kim Smith
On the victory: "I really respect (Air Force), because they're a team that is never going to quit. They're going to play the full 40 minutes and they're never going to give you anything. I think we just started executing better defensively and that created our offense."
Utah Senior Julie Larsen
On her shooting performance: "I think getting wide open shots is what it amounted to. I guess my teammates were getting me open shots to see if I could hit them tonight. I think we just started pressuring the ball better and getting more steals, which led to more fast-break opportunities."
Air Force Head Coach Ardie McInelly
On her reaction to the game: "We ran into a buzz-saw tonight. Elaine Elliot is awesome and she has great kids. They outplayed us in every aspect. It was close for the first ten minutes and then it all broke loose. But I guarantee we'll give them a better game when we play at our place."
