Last Week: Chelsea DiGrazia led the way in finishing 10th as the University of Utah cross country team took third place at the 5K BYU Autumn Classic on Saturday. DiGrazia, Utah's top runner, raced the course in 19:20. Ashlee Warnick and Nicki Hugie were the other top runners for Utah in taking 22nd and 25th, respectively. Warnick finished in 19:56 while Hugie finished in 20:02. Kellie Anderson, Caitlin Zeigle, and Janett Ern rounded out the rest of the Utah pack, finishing 39th (20:47), 47th (22:16), and 50th (22:33), respectively.
Ute Notes: Janett Ern raced in her first collegiate-level event this weekend.
Quoting the Coach: "This will be our third meet in a row, so we are looking to continue to see improvement up and down the lineup/ This race will be bigger in terms of runners, which will present a new challenge, but one that I know our runners are looking forward to."
On Chelsea DiGrazia: "Essentially, Chelsea is still a freshman and is just learning how to run cross country. Right now we are not sure what her boundaries are, which is a good thing. She needs to continue improving each week like everybody else and not put limits on herself. She's a quick learner, and her threshold of pain is higher that what she thought it would be. She has been very accepting to the greater amount of training it takes to run longer distances, and she is extremely strong mentally."
