PROVO, Utah- Chelsea DiGrazia led the way in finishing 10th as the University of Utah cross country team took third place here at the 5K BYU Autumn Classic today.
"We ran a lot better this week," says coach Kepler." "We did a lot better at getting out at the start of the race. We are really pleased to have raced this well against BYU and Weber State."
BYU won the event with 25 points while Weber State finished second with 33 points. Utah took third with 90 points and Utah Valley State College finished last with 97 points.
DiGrazia, Utah's top runner, took10th with a time of 19:20. Ashlee Warnick and Nicki Hugie were the other top runners for Utah in taking 22nd and 25th, respectively. Warnick finished in 19:56 while Hugie finished in 20:02.
Kellie Anderson, Caitlin Zeigle, and Janett Ern rounded out the rest of the Utah pack, finishing 39th (20:47), 47th (22:16), and 50th (22:33), respectively.
BYU's Chelsea Smith-McKell won the meet, clocking in at 18:13.
The Utes will head to Bozemen, Mont., next week for the MSU Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 17.
