Ireland's Leigh Walsh Signs With Utah Women's Tennis

SALT LAKE CITY - Leigh Walsh from Dublin, Ireland, has signed with the University of Utah women's tennis team. The announcement came today from Ute women's head coach Megan Dorny.
Walsh is the Under-18 Irish national champion. She holds an ITF international ranking and has represented Ireland in international competition. Owen Casey, the Irish Federation Cup team coach, has coached her.
"I'm very excited to have signed such a high-caliber athlete and student so late in the recruiting season," said Dorny. "Leigh is an impressive athlete who not only excels in tennis, but also played field hockey and Gaelic football at a high level. Leigh has a huge upside in that she has a lot of potential to grow and develop as a tennis player in the type of environment we provide here at the U. But I feel Leigh will impact the program and the line-up positively beginning this fall."
