San Diego, Calif. - The University of Utah men's tennis team suffered a close (4-3) loss to No. 40 UNLV Apr. 2, 2005. With two losses over the weekend, the Utes fall to 12-5 on the season and 0-2 in the Mountain West Conference.
In doubles, No. 45 Miron Mann and Zach Ganger teamed up to defeat Henner Nehles and Avriam Salomon (8-5) at No. 1. Ute duo of Jason Yap and Nick Coutts also picked up win, (8-4) over Joel Kielbowicz and David Campbell at No.2.
Despite winning the doubles point, Utah only managed to take the No. 3 and 6 singles. Coutts topped Romain Massaro (6-4, 6-4) at No. 3 and Yap earned a (6-1, 6-1) victory over Jonathan Hooper at No. 6.
The Utes wrap up conference play next week with matches against BYU, Air Force and New Mexico in Provo, Utah.
