Salt Lake City - The University of Utah women's tennis team picked up its first conference victory with a 5-2 win over Wyoming at home in the Eccles Tennis Center.
Utah got off to a good start by sweeping the doubles and earning a one point lead.
The Utes then took the No. 1, 2, 4 and 5 singles to finish things off. Liz Ferris defeated Patricia Chien (6-0, 7-5) at No. 1 while Emily Kwok earned a (6-0, 7-6(3) win over Corina Lazar at No. 2. Cheyenne Reveche beat Kim Romero in straight sets (6-1, 6-1) at No. 4 and Allison Hansen was victorious over Andrea House (6-1, 6-4) at No. 5.
The Utes continue conference play tomorrow when they host Colorado State at 10: 00 a.m.
