| A 6-1 senior from Orem, Utah (Orem HS), Sommerfeldt led the No. 3 seed Utes to their third Mountain West Conference Championship last week after victories over Wyoming, Colorado State and top-seeded and 21st-ranked BYU. She recorded 11 kills in 27 attempts for a .370 hitting efficiency vs. the Cowgirls in the quarterfinal round of tournament play and posted a team-high 13 kills vs. the Rams in the semifinals. In the championship match vs. the Cougars, Sommerfeldt recorded 17 kills, with nine digs and four total blocks.
