Missoula, Mont.- Once again, Chelsea DiGrazia is the top-finisher for the University of Utah Cross Country team. DiGrazia finished 15th with a time of 22:49. The team placed sixth overall with 132 points.
"I am happy with the way Chelsea DiGrazia ran again. She's been our leader all year and continues to do a good job up front," says head coach Kyle Kepler. "We had two great weeks of practice and it didn't show at all at the meet today. I'm disappointed about our finish, but we're going to keep our heads up and keep training hard, and look forward to the Chili Pepper Invitational in two weeks."
"Ashlee Warnick really stepped up and had a little better race than she's had the last couple meets. We clearly have some improving to do though, and we need some girls to step up so that we can finish the season on a good note."
Warnick finished 22nd with a time of 23:25. Nicki Hugie was right behind her teammate with a time of 23:37 and finished 25th. Rounding out the rest of the Utes are Kristin Taylor (36th, 24:19), Kellie Anderson (43rd, 24:46), and Janett Ern (48th, 25:04).
Washington State won the meet with 31 points, while Weber State took second with 39. Montana finished third with 89, Montana State fourth with 111, and Eastern Washington fifth with 112. Utah was sixth with 132.
The Utes have two weeks off again before they head to the University of Arkansas for the Chili Pepper Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15.
