Utah Junior Earns MWC Cross Country Honor

Salt Lake City, Utah - The Mountain West Conference has honored University of Utah junior Elise Greenwood-Bahr for her weekend effort by naming her cross country female athlete of the week. Greenwood-Bahr led the Ute women's team to a first-place finish at the Bobcat Invitational on Saturday in Bozeman, Mont. She took the individual title in the three-mile event and crossed the finish line in 17 minutes, 11.12 seconds.
"Elise has trained well throughout the season and has led the women's team in both meets this year," said Utah head coach Brian Appell. "She's really earned this honor. Based on her performance last year, she has a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships. The dedication and hard work from the entire team is really starting to pay off."
The Utes will compete in the NCAA Pre-National Meet on Sat., Oct. 16, in Terre Haute, Ind.
