SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's tennis team was edged 5-2 by No. 67 University of New Mexico at the Canyon Racquet Club.
Utah fought hard in the doubles but did not get the one point lead. Ute duo of Roeland Brateanu and Miron Mann fell by a single point to Ryan Stotland and David Kowalski at the No. 1 (9-8).
In singles, the Utes were victorious at only two spots. Competing at the No. 4, Nick Coutts took care of Henry Gers in three sets (6-3, 3-6, 7-5). The other Utah point came at the No. 6, where Ryan Scott dominated Robert Grzeskowiak (7-6, 6-3).
Utah wraps up the regular season tomorrow against Air Force at 2:00 at the Canyon Racquet Club.
